Banjoe Vacations invites you to The West Nest!

Located on Haywood Road in the heart of West Asheville, this cozy yet bright efficiency apartment is walkable/bikeable to restaurants, clubs, music, the River Arts District, breweries and downtown Asheville. Our place is recently renovated and professionally furnished by Village Antiques, with a great patio that offers city and mountain views. The West Nest is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

Our Airbnb is bright, remodeled and is professionally designed and decorated with antiques from Village Antiques in mid-century modern and Japanese styles. We paid extra special attention to our bed, since we personally really value staying in places with comfortable mattresses. We hope that you enjoy it on our patio with city and mountain views.

You will be able to access the entire apartment, with the exception of the owners closet.

If you want to explore West Asheville, there's a great website OnHaywood dot com (spelled out because Airbnb removed the link). This website has links and info on West Asheville restaurants, shops, music venues, clubs and businesses. Haywood Rd is the main street in West Asheville. Our Airbnb is on Haywood Rd, on the east side, between the River Arts District and central West Asheville. Some people call it "East West Asheville" because it is the east side of west Asheville.

Some of my favorite places on Haywood Road are (in no particular order):

Coffee Shops:

Battle Cat

Odds Cafe

Izzy's Coffee Shop

Breakfast:

King Daddy's Chicken and Waffles

Sunny Point Cafe

Biscuit Head

West End Bakery

Lunch and Dinner:

West End Bakery (lunch only)

Zia Taqueria

Taco Billy's

Nine Mile (Jamaican Pasta)

Buffalo Nickel

The Admiral (dinner)

WALK

Standard Pizza

Banditos

Breweries/Pubs:

Oyster House Brewery

Universal Joint

UpCountry Brewing

The Wedge Brewery (River Arts District)

Urban Orchard (cider)

Westville Pub

Music Venues:

ISIS (music and restaurant)

The Mothlight

The Grey Eagle (River Arts District)

Dive Bars:

The Double Crown

Desoto Lounge

The Odditorium

Groceries:

Westvillage Market (organic bodega style store)

Ingles Grocery (conventional grocery store)

I hope this helps, but feel free to let me know if you have questions.

The West Nest is conveniently located and is bikeable to downtown Asheville, walkable to the River Arts District, and of course, it is walkable to everything in West Asheville. Our apartment is on the bus line, so if you want to get around without a car, you've found the right spot!

We are in the center of West Asheville. We think our space is perfect for those who want an urban experience, but not for those travelers looking for a quiet getaway. There is a lumber yard next door (not active at night) and traffic on Haywood Road. It is not loud in the apartment, and not different than any city apartment, but it is not the silent mountain retreat either, so we hope that our guests are looking for a place where they are in the heart of it all.

This stay was great! Bruce was proactive with check-in instructions and communicative. The location is perfect, a quick walk to Battle Cat coffee shop across the street & down the road from our favorite record shop, Harvest Records. Would absolutely stay again!

I had a great stay at Bruce's place. This apartment is tucked behind a business on a busy street, but it still feels "private". It's also very walkable to several places (bakeries, restaurants, various shops, and lots of street art) in West Asheville as well as the River Arts District. Instructions for how to access the place were very clear and detailed. I'm a light sleeper, so I always wear earplugs, and the lumber yard next door and dive bar (with live music) across the street didn't bother me. The bed is also extremely comfortable! All in all, it's a great spot to stay in West AVL.

This is our third time staying here and our favorite place to stay when we come to AVL. We love the privacy and location. Not to mention, the bed is comfy. We highly recommend!

Lovely, clean unit in funky walkable neighbohood with lots of good spots for food. We had a great time and enjoyed relaxing on the porch in the mornings while we sipped our tea. I would suggest that you bring a couple of extra towels and bath mat as there are only two bath towels and no bath mat. Enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I had such a great stay! Bruce was a very friendly host. It was such a short drive to the middle of downtown Asheville and you could definitely walk. I loved having a coffee shop, cafe, diner, and cute shops so near by to explore. It was private, comfy, and the aesthetic of the room was great!

Bruce’s house was exactly what we needed for an anniversary getaway weekend in the epicenter of West Asheville’s best restaurants, coffee, and shops. Very comfortable bed and nice place for 2 to spread out and spend a weekend together. Will certainly come back next time we venture east. Cheers!

The West Nest is conveniently located and hidden in place sight off the main strip in West Asheville. It’s awesome to stay in a place that has so many walkable options nearby (restaurants, cafes, bookstore, etc.) and to not have to worry about street parking. As for the house, it’s just like the photos. I particularly enjoyed the deck and the spacious layout of the studio. Bruce was an incredibly responsive and helpful host as well. We found our stay quite comfortable and enjoyable. Would recommend!

I loved this Airbnb. It is centrally located anywhere you want to get to in Asheville. There are great bars, restaurants and coffee shops literally across the street. The Airbnb was extremely nice inside, comfortable, and we will absolutely stay here again when we return. 10/10 - Book it while you can.

My partner & I booked this for our anniversary. We had no idea it was RIGHT across the street from our favorite karaoke spot (double crown on sundays) & coffee shop (battle cat). We had dinner right next door at the admiral & it was amazing. The bed was super comfy & while across the street from bars, it was extremely quiet. We were able to sit on the porch and listen to music from the cellarest at sunset as well. Highly recommend! Will definitely be visiting again!
