Banjoe Vacations invites you to come to Lake Lure and stay ON the water. The Cardinal Cottage is built right over the lake and comes complete with a hot tub and 2-person kayak, with a pontoon boat available for rent. The rooftop deck with fire table is a fantastic place to relax. Move down to the table on the dock overlooking the water and end your day with a soak in the hot tub. This is lake life at its best! And bring the dogs (additional fee required)! They will love the lake too.

This cozy cottage is built right over the water so almost wherever you look, you can see the lake.

Inside, the cottage is comfortably furnished with two pullout sofas, a dining table, and a full kitchen. The bedroom sleeps 2, and both sofas in the living room convert to beds, so the house can sleep 6 people total. There is a workspace with a desk that overlooks the lake, making it easy to take in the views while you work. The bathroom is supplied with toiletries and towels (no need to bring your own).

Outside, there are two dining tables and a gas grill. The rooftop deck has a large modular couch, loungers, a hammock, and a propane fire table. The professionally maintained hot tub is also available to guests.

**Additional note about Lake Lure:

Lake Lure is a town-funded lake that practices sporadic drawdowns. The drawdown of Lake Lure this winter will be from November 1st 2023 to the end of March 2024.

Please be aware that if you book from Nov - April, depending on what the town decides, there could possibly be little to no water in the lake. During drawdowns, all boats will be put away. However - there are plenty of other fantastic activities in the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area during the winter season!

The entire area marked for the Cardinal Cottage is for your use. This includes your own parking space, upper deck, your own dock, hot tub, and entire cottage.

This house is located in a quiet and beautiful cove of Lake Lure. While there are houses nearby there is enough space on each side of the property to make you feel that you are on your own slice of heaven! The town of Lake Lure is small and peaceful yet has everything you need and so much to explore!

This property is car dependent. This listing is located on the lake in Lake Lure. Distances to favorite area spots are:

Downtown Asheville: 50 min.

This cabin is sweet and cozy. Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway!! Fully stocked kitchen and bath. All you need are some groceries and a bathing suit! The boat was great also!!!

To explain the low rating on cleanliness, the place was rather disappointing when we checked-in. However, I went to Bruce and Vicky with my issues and they both answered immediately and were very apologetic. Bruce arrived first thing the next morning to take care of everything himself. He really went above and beyond to remedy the situation. We were very pleased with the end result (other than not having the ability to use the upstairs fire pit since it was very cold at night while we were there, but I understand things break and cannot always be immediately fixed)

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Bruce's lake house. Our favorite part was the access to the water toys; paddle boards, kayaks, and floats. The hot tub was an excellent perk as well. Close and convenient to town and hiking trails. Definitely recommend.

This was our third time staying at this lovely cottage by the lake. We have loved our stay every time! We truly enjoy just relaxing—we float on the water, use the kayaks, soak in the hot tub, drink tea, and grill nice dinners to eat on the amazing roof deck. The kitchen is well stocked, the place is very clean, and there are lots of games (eg Monopoly, Tenzi). The host is very responsive. We hope to come back for a 4th summer in a row next year!

The house and amenities were plentiful! The house has ample outdoor spaces, and it's right over the lake! The cove is pretty quiet compared to the lake, so it's perfect for floating, swimming, and relaxing.

This Airbnb was everything and more! I wanted a fun home base right on the lake and this was perfect. So much to do, so many thoughtful amenities, and such beautiful surroundings. I brought my kids for a lake vacation and this will for sure be one of our favorite memories together—mostly because of where we stayed and all of the fun we had there. If you are like me and use reviews to make a decision, I would go for this place—you won’t regret it! (While in the area, we loved Boon Life Adventures for ATV fun, Lured Market to stop for a drink or park the boat and run over to get supplies, Flying Cloud Farm for beautiful flowers and produce, Rumbling Bald for a hike, and the gem mining place in Chimney Rock for a fun activity for kids.)

We really enjoyed our stay! Bruce was very responsive throughout our stay. The house is in a perfect location near Lake Lure Beach and Chimney Rock - lots to do only minutes away. The house was very cute and we loved being right on the water! The house was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We used the kayak and floats during our stay and we loved that those were included. It definitely enhanced the experience of renting lakefront. The driveway is pretty steep and you have to be very careful going down the stairs to the house, but pictures of the stairs are in the listing. We would have appreciated more toilet paper as there was only a single roll and no back ups that we could find. Ended up having to buy some more at the grocery store nearby. We would definitely stay here again though!

Overall we had a good experience. Bruce was very responsive, friendly, and communicated well. The amenities were as advertised. One thing that was surprising to me was the road noise. There’s a busy road that loops around the house and during the day, it is quite loud sitting out on the deck. We also decided to rent the pontoon boat for a day, and the process could use some streamlining. The guy that checked it out to us was later than the agreed time, and we were informed that we had to bring it back with a full tank of gas. The biggest issue with that was we were told the gas station at the marina closed at 4:00 so we had to call it a day then. The later boat check out combined with the earlier fill up time meant we didn’t actually get a full day of use. Other than the road noise and pontoon rental experience, we had a good time.

My family and I would stay at this Airbnb again for the views alone! It's in the perfect location close to everything from lake lure beach to chimney rock state park this spot is in the center of it all! We especially enjoyed the kayaks and easy boating access! Would love to stay here again!!!!!
